I have always loved Claire Marta’s Ceasefire’s series. From Ashes to Embers is yet another one to add to my collection.

She’s forbidden.

Temptation personified in a curvy package of sugar and sin.

My one job is to obey the rules.

Keep my **** in my pants and forget the new nanny.

Be a good little soldier as the Devil himself raised me to be.

Problem is I can’t.

I care more than I want to admit.

I’m not supposed to have a conscience. Blood stains my hands and taints my soul.

There’s no escaping the chains that bind us, when duty threatens to destroy us both.

Raziel is the Devil’s right hand man. Someone who sold his soul to him when he was young to save his mother’s soul, and send it to Heaven. He was trained as a fighter, and not to have feelings for others.

Jane is a fairy who takes the job as a nanny to watch the Devil’s and Mavi’s baby. She instantly attracts Raziel, who is conflicted because of his boss. The Devil himself told Raziel that she is to be off limits. Well, the Devil had other plans.

Jane recollects where she came from, and try to solve so many mysteries that were holes in her past. Raziel, comes to terms that he loves Jane, and he can’t fight it.

From Ashes to Embers is book 3 in the Ceasefire series. You will have to read the first two or else you will be completely lost. Book 1 is The Devil’s Plaything and Book 2 is The Devil You Know which both posts can be seen here.

I give From Ashes to Embers 5 stars. The sex, the continuing story, the violence, the feelings . . . Everything. If you like erotica with some drama and violence, this is the book for you!!!

Day 10 of #31AuthorsofHalloween – MaryJanice Davidson

If I was to choose any series out of all of the books I have collected over the years, I would have to choose the Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson as my favorite of all time. If you like comedy with drama, with some horror mixed in, this is the book to pick up.

You have a woman, whose real name is Elizabeth Taylor, but would rather go by the name Betsy, is killed by a truck. She wakes up in the morgue, lol, on the day of her funeral. She does not understand what happened. She goes by her parents house, who are ready to go to the funeral, her dad faints, her step-mom cannot comprehend. She finds out her step-mom took all of her name brand clothes. She takes it all back and goes home.

She finds out she is a vampire when she felt threatened, and her fangs came out. After many years as a vampire, she still has a lisp. Her friend finds out that she is back from the dead, and is a vampire, and thinks it is the coolest thing in the world by saying “you can fight crime!”. She meets a man who is also a vampire, she despises him at first, and ultimately falls in love with him. She befriends a nurse in the midst of him trying to commit suicide, and ends up bringing him home to live with her.

She has a half-sister who . . . Get this . . . Is birthed by Satan. And she is a Catholic school girl. She does charities, she is the Good Samaritan, but when she gets pissed, she channels the Satan in her.

Betsy has werewolves as her allies, she has a zombie in attic, her step-mother is a ghost and lives with her and nags her all the time. She adopted a rogue vampire, who loves to knit. I mean the list goes on.

I hope this post itself intrigues you to pick up this series, and laugh her booty off if you still want something dark, but hilarious at the same time.
