I have always loved Claire Marta’s Ceasefire’s series. From Ashes to Embers is yet another one to add to my collection.

She’s forbidden.

Temptation personified in a curvy package of sugar and sin.

My one job is to obey the rules.

Keep my **** in my pants and forget the new nanny.

Be a good little soldier as the Devil himself raised me to be.

Problem is I can’t.

I care more than I want to admit.

I’m not supposed to have a conscience. Blood stains my hands and taints my soul.

There’s no escaping the chains that bind us, when duty threatens to destroy us both.

Raziel is the Devil’s right hand man. Someone who sold his soul to him when he was young to save his mother’s soul, and send it to Heaven. He was trained as a fighter, and not to have feelings for others.

Jane is a fairy who takes the job as a nanny to watch the Devil’s and Mavi’s baby. She instantly attracts Raziel, who is conflicted because of his boss. The Devil himself told Raziel that she is to be off limits. Well, the Devil had other plans.

Jane recollects where she came from, and try to solve so many mysteries that were holes in her past. Raziel, comes to terms that he loves Jane, and he can’t fight it.

From Ashes to Embers is book 3 in the Ceasefire series. You will have to read the first two or else you will be completely lost. Book 1 is The Devil’s Plaything and Book 2 is The Devil You Know which both posts can be seen here.

I give From Ashes to Embers 5 stars. The sex, the continuing story, the violence, the feelings . . . Everything. If you like erotica with some drama and violence, this is the book for you!!!

Book Review: The Cease Fire Series by Claire Marta

A story of a mixed breed who falls for a man with a dark secret . . .

Synopsis for The Devil You KnowBook One

My name is Mavi StClair. I’m a monster with a pretty face. An assassin in trade. Guilt, remorse, it’s never touched me. I’m as cold as they come and just as professional. Dealing death has always come easily, and I inflict it with ease. It fuels and feeds the twisted darkness inside me. My downfall begins with a single night of untamed passion leaving me hungering for more of him. One wicked soul recognizing another. Now he owns me. The lines of what I know are blurred. I’m playing his game. A pawn, eternally tangled in a web of secrets and lies. He won’t let me go. Taking pleasure in my fall from grace. Question is, can I save myself before I’m damned completely?

I am going to admit it right now . . . This is definitely an 18+ book. You have an assassin, a rendezvous with a dark and mysterious man, and even darker sex. I have read erotica before . . . But holy moly, it raised the temperature. The Devil You Know is book one of The Cease Fire Series. I read the first book, and I could not wait to get my hands on book 2, which came out on 7/19 . . .

Synopsis for The Devil’s Plaything

Lust, sex, lies.

I fell in love.

I bled and broke for him.

I foolishly played his game and woke to find he’s not done with me yet.

He’s dead set on stripping everything I am bare.

I’m nothing but his plaything and he’s pulling my strings.

But things are going to be different.

I’m more than an assassin, a monster with a pretty face. I’m his undoing.

I will rise. Seek my revenge. Outwit his deviant schemes.

This time . . . I plan to win.

The Devil’s Plaything is a another book that will leave you at the edge of your seat. You will scream, curse, cry, slap your forehead, etc. Second book did not disappoint either, which I loved. Again, the book is 18+, it does have sex scenes, but it is more psychological than the first. Let me tell you, you are thrown for a loop just the first couple of paragraphs. You are wondering, is this the sequel? Huh? Then everything starts making sense. Then BOOM, the author throws yet another curveball.

I love Claire’s The Cease Fire Series, and I cannot wait to see what she cooks up in book 3. I have a love/hate relationship with that character, and I need it NOW lol.
