Anne Rice came along to me after R. L. Stine. I remember I was a preteen when the movie Interview with the Vampire. I remember the first time I saw the previews, I begged my parents to take me to see the movie, but of course, it was not age appropriate. Little did they know that I bought the movie when I got my allowance lol. I started reading the books shortly after, and she became the second horror author I enjoyed since I was a child.
I read the books in bits and pieces, as we did not have a book store back then, and I was never able to make it to the city’s library. So I read whatever I could find.
Lestat will always be my favorite, he was funny, and sick at the same time. Claudia, I felt like I was able to relate to her as well. I felt trapped. Well, when you are a preteen and a teenager, you always feel trapped.
I tried reading her Sleeping Beauty series, and honestly, lol, I just could not get into them. Maybe because it was not my favorite genre at the time, I really was not into erotica, sex type books, even well into my twenties. To me, they didn’t feel like a story.
I guess I am more into the horror than I thought lol.
